FAQs About Ear Wax Removal
Everything you need to know about our gentle procedure and professional ear care standards.
Is the procedure painful?
No, microsuction is a gentle and dry procedure. While you may hear some noise from the suction device, it is generally painless for the vast majority of our clients.
Is microsuction safer than ear syringing?
Yes. Unlike traditional syringing, which uses water pressure, microsuction uses high-spec binocular microscopes for constant visual control, making it significantly safer and more precise.
How long does an appointment take?
Appointments usually last around 20 to 30 minutes. This includes a thorough ear canal inspection, the procedure itself, and a final check to ensure complete removal.
Do I need to use oil drops before I come in?
We recommend using olive oil drops for 2-3 days before your visit to soften the wax. While not always mandatory, it often makes the removal process quicker and smoother.
What is the recommended aftercare?
Keep your ears dry for 24 hours after the procedure. We strongly advise against using cotton buds or inserting any objects into your ear canal to prevent future blockages.
Will my earwax removal be completed in one appointment, or might I need a follow-up visit?
Most clients can be treated within a 30-minute appointment. However, some clients—particularly first-time appointments—may have a significant or hardened wax build-up that requires further softening and a follow-up visit within one week.
How often should I have my ears cleared?
Frequency varies between individuals. Some clients with narrow canals or high wax production visit every 6 months, while others only need care once every year.
